SILAY CITY, Negros Occidental – Two city hall employees were killed and five others wounded in a shooting incident in Silay City, Negros Occidental, on Monday, May 12, Election Day.
The attack occurred around 6:00 a.m. as the victims were having coffee, according to a report by GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas’ Aileen Pedreso. Perpetrators traveling in a van opened fire on the group, leaving two dead at the scene.
The victims were reportedly on duty, monitoring for vote-buying activities in the area during the Eleksyon 2025. While the motive remains unclear, initial investigations suggest a barangay captain may be a suspect in the shooting.
