The sharp rise was driven by the combined effects of the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat and a passing Low Pressure Area, which have dumped heavy rains across the lake’s watershed in recent days.
Authorities warned residents living along the shores of Laguna de Bay to remain vigilant and closely monitor official updates. With the water level already above critical mark and more rain forecast, communities are advised to prepare for potential flooding and strictly follow local evacuation protocols should rainfall persist or worsen.
