A suspect was killed after a brief encounter with police.
PHILIPPINE National Police Chief Police General Dionardo Carlos lauded the Central Visayas cops after having successfully seized over P11.2 million worth of shabu in six separate anti-drug operations on Friday, February 12, 2022.
Citing reports of Police Brigadier General Roque Eduardo Vega, Regional Director, Police Regional Office 7 (PRO7), PNP Chief Carlos announced the arrest of Joylyn Valiente Andamon, 43, during an anti-illegal drugs operation conducted on February 12, 2022 at about 1:03 AM by personnel of City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), Mandaue City Police Office at Brgy. Alang-alang, Mandaue City.
Andamon and the confiscated 22 plastic packs containing suspected shabu weighing more or less 1 kilo of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P6,800,000.00, one Oppo cellular phone and the buy-bust money in her possession were brought to CDEU, Mandaue CPO for documentation proper disposition.
Meanwhile, at around 9:45 AM of the same day, personnel of Police Station 7, Cebu City Police Office conducted a drug buy bust operation at Sitio Dumpsite, Brgy. Inayawan, Cebu City that resulted in the arrest of Diomeded Tangaro Magnanao, alias “Medes”, 30.
Confiscated from Magnanao were 19 plastic packs containing suspected shabu weighing more or less 525 grams with an estimated standard drug price of P3,570,000.00, buy-bust money and one brown sling bag used as a container of illegal drugs.
The suspect along with the confiscated evidence was brought to PS7, Cebu CPO for documentation and proper disposition.
On the other hand, Wendie Torrejos Tacoloy, alias “Kimpee”, 32, identified as high value individual (HVI) were arrested on the same day at around 12:30 PM by joint personnel of CDEU and CIU, Lapu-Lapu City Police Office in another drug operation at Sitio Puso Center, Brgy Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu which yielded seven plastic packs containing suspected shabu weighing more or less 55 grams with an estimated standard drug price of Php374,000.00, buy-bust money and one belt bag used as a container.
Moreover, at around 11:00 in the morning Melvin Saavedra, 36, listed as HVI and Cyril Veloso, 50, were captured by elements of Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) and Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU), PRO7 during drug buy-bust operation at JM Basa St., Brgy San Nicolas, Cebu City.
Police recovered 20 sachets and one plastic pack containing suspected shabu weighing more or less 50 grams with an estimated standard drug price of P340,000.00, buy-bust money, and P200 cash believed to be proceeds from illegal activities and one eyeglass case used as a container of illegal drugs from the suspects.
They were brought to RPDEU for documentation and proper disposition together with the confiscated evidence.
Likewise, drug operatives of PDET Bohol Police Provincial Office arrested Jonas Pandan, 41, in a drug operation conducted at 12:40 AM at Purok-6, Brgy. Malayo Sur, Cortes Bohol and seized 10 sachets containing suspected shabu weighing more or less 50 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P340,000.00 and the buy-bust money.
Pandan and confiscated evidence were brought to PDET Bohol PPO for proper disposition.
Further, at around 7:10 AM of Friday, personnel of Argao MPS conducted a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Colawin, Argao, Cebu against Johnny Antilon, 31,; Alejandrino Albarracin, 67; and Renel Albarracin.
According to initial reports, Antilon engaged police operatives in an armed confrontation that resulted in his death. Recovered pieces of evidence were 36 sachets containing suspected shabu weighing more or less 19 grams with an estimated standard drug price of P129,200.00, one caliber .45 pistol with magazine and one live ammunition, one holster, one improvised shotgun, two live ammunition for shotgun, two fired cartridge cases for caliber .45 and two fired cartridge cases for a shotgun.
Carlos said the operation resulted in the arrest of Alejandrino Albarracin while Renel Albarracin eluded the arrest. Meanwhile, the SOCO team was requested to process the crime scene while the arrested suspect was brought to Argao MPS for proper disposition.
“I congratulate the joint efforts and commitment of our operating teams and units in Central Visayas for another one day successful anti-illegal drugs operation. Sisigurudahin po natin na sa pamamagitan ng kooperasyon ng ating kumunidad sa ating kapulisan ay mas papaigtingin pa natin ang pagsugpo ng iligal na droga sa bansa”, Carlos said.
Criminal Case in violation of Section 5 in relation to Section 26(b) of Art II of RA 9165 is now being processed against all arrested drug suspects.
