THE awarding of the 6th Outstanding Men and Women of the Philippines was a huge success as celebrities and politicians merged to honor the great men and women of the country and overseas held at Teatrino Promenade in Greenhills, San Juan City last Saturday August 27.

The award giving body was initiated by respectable awards guru, talent manager, publicist, BEST Magazine CEO and philanthropist Mr. Richard Hiñola.

Recipients are based Filipinos who have made a difference in their chosen fields of endeavor such as public service, entrepreneurship, entertainment, arts and culture, beauty and wellness, and the championing of Filipino interests abroad on power, gauging on the contributions they have made to the society and the nation, the advocacies they have initiated or have taken active participation of which serve as an inspiration to others.

The Manila Times won the Philippine Outstanding Brand of the Year in the media category award during the 6th Outstanding Men and Women of the Philippines and Philippine Outstanding Brand of the Year ceremonies held last Saturday in Greenhills, San Juan City, Philippines.
Guest Speaker was Honorable Undersecretary Niña Taduran.

The Manila Times Chairman and CEO Dante “Klink” Ang II accepted the award for the country’s oldest English daily newspaper.

Other media category awardees were the SMNI and Net 25.
Public Attorney’s Office Chief and Times columnist Persida Rueda-Acosta accepted her second award in six years as one of Most Outstanding Men and Women in the Philippines.

Awardees from abroad were Theresa Guck (Texas, USA), Jojo Almazora Sebastian (Sydney, Australia), Tommie Gelonga Mopia (Los Angeles, California), Helen Miller (Oregon, USA), Pearl Cruz Grande (Tokyo, Japan), Arlene Jane Camus Knof (Florida, USA), Carlo Galagata (Thailand), Anna Lisa Amar Eugenio (Melbourne, Australia), Daphne Chloe Villamor (Germany), Analieze Bella Newton (Sydney, Australia), and Lalaine Federizo (USA).

Awardees from business included Andrea shine Tallafer Agaton, Maria Cecilia T. Bravo, Pedro M. Bravo, Raoul Barbosa, and Dante Salamat.

Awardees from medical field were Dr. Joseph Lee, Dra. Rhea Candie Real Santos and Dr. Rey Salinel.
Headed by Richard Hiñola as philanthropic advocacy for his Best (Beauty, Empowered people, Style, Tourism) Magazine, the Outstanding Men and Women of the Philippines and Philippine Outstanding Brand of the Year have honored countless Filipinos for their contributions in easing the plight of the less privileged in society or their leadership in the many aspects of nation-building.
