THE Land Transportation Office (LTO) has issued a 90‑day suspension on the driver’s license of a motorcycle rider allegedly involved in a hit‑and‑run collision with television host Cianne Dominguez in Antipolo City.
The order follows a show‑cause notice summoning the rider to appear before the agency’s Intelligence and Investigation Division on October 9 to explain why further administrative action should not be taken against him. He faces potential formal charges for reckless driving, failure to perform the duties of a driver after an accident, and allowing an unqualified person to operate a motor vehicle.
Dominguez, a host of the noontime program It’s Showtime, recounted that she had slowed down to give way to a tricycle when her car was struck from behind. Upon checking, she saw a motorcycle speeding away from the scene. Surveillance footage captured the rider’s face, his passenger, and the motorcycle’s license plate number, enabling authorities to identify and track the vehicle. The motorcycle itself has been placed under alarm status, restricting its legal operation on public roads while the inquiry remains open.
The LTO emphasized that the suspension is an interim measure pending the outcome of the investigation, and additional penalties including permanent revocation of the rider’s license may be recommended if the evidence supports the full range of charges. Authorities continue to review the incident and gather statements as they prepare for the scheduled hearing on October 9.
