THE Rizal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict converged during the groundbreaking ceremony of P20M worth of various projects for Brgy. Sta Ines under the Barangay Development Program held at Brgy. Sta Ines Covered Court, Tanay, Rizal.
The projects in the barangay include the concreting of farm to market road, the reconstruction of stone masonry for side protection at Lanatin River and the construction of 1-storey multi-purpose building.
The activity which was attended by various government agencies is part of the operation of the Executive Order 70 known as Institutionalizing the Whole of Nation Approach thru the Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (TF-ELCAC) that will surely give opportunity in the said barangay and its adjacent communities as it will provide better accessibility in transporting their farm produce and delivering basic services offered by the local government unit.
Tanay Municipal Mayor Rex Manuel Tanjuatco assured the people of Sta. Ines that the municipal government of Tanay will work hard to ensure the swift and transparent implementation of the project.
“These projects will bring hope and tranquility that we can achieve prosperity and development, and enjoying lasting peace in our town.”
In a statement, USec Damian Carlos, Deputy Director General, National Security Council stressed that the national government is more than willing to extend its projects to the remote and former CTG-affected barangays.
In his message prior the groundbreaking ceremony, he emphasized the importance of the project.
“It is with deep pleasure and honor to be here with the people of Sta. Ines despite the difficulty in going to Sta. Ines because of lack of roads and bridges. Thus, I encourage you to strongly support this program of the NTF-ELCAC and be united in achieving sustainable peace and development in our motherland.”
Sta. Ines barangay chair Adrenico Zubiaga expressed his gratitude on behalf of the barangay officials and residents for the upcoming project.
“Our lives used to be very difficult with the presence of NPA. But thanks to the commitment of the government and the active support of military and police forces, we are in a much more peaceful situation now. We are so blessed that we were granted these much-needed project thru ELCAC’s initiatives.”
The said barangay is among the 30 barangays in CALABARZON Region that was cleared from Communist Terrorist Group’s influence after undergoing the Army’s Community Support Program (CSP).
All CSP cleared barangays are entitled to receive P20M funding for the implementation of their priority projects following the identification of their issues and development gaps at the barangay level.
On October 15 and 22, 2021, a ground breaking ceremony for BDP projects at Brgy. Macabud, Rodriquez, Rizal and Brgy. Taklang Anak, Calaca, Batangas were also launched.
The 202nd Brigade that has the operational area in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Northern Quezon will sustain its effort in providing security and monitoring of the ongoing and upcoming BDP projects.
