THE House of Representatives affirmed on Thursday that its members will continue carrying out their duties to the Filipino people regardless of any investigation, stressing that accountability is part of public service and that no inquiry will distract the institution from its mandate.
Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III said in a statement that the chamber remains focused on its constitutional responsibilities even as the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) and the Department of Public Works and Highways filed a new joint case referral before the Office of the Ombudsman.
“Whatever happens, the House of Representatives remains focused on its duty to serve the nation. Accountability is part of being a public servant, and all members—whether investigated or not—are ready to cooperate in any process while continuing to fulfill their role as legislators,” Dy said.
The Speaker stressed that the House will always put public welfare first and serve with honesty and integrity. He reiterated that since day one of his leadership, the House has been clear in its commitment to fully respect and cooperate with the ICI, rooted in the conviction that truth must prevail and accountability cannot be compromised.
