A WARM display of unity and camaraderie unfolded in Alabel, Sarangani Province, as House Speaker Bojie Dy received Acting Senate President Win Gatchalian, who was accompanied by Senators JV Ejercito, Erwin Tulfo, and Migz Zubiri.
Both top legislative officials were in the area to personally assess the situation in communities hit by the recent powerful earthquake and to ensure that government assistance and response measures are properly coordinated and delivered to affected residents.
During their brief but meaningful interaction, Gatchalian expressed genuine enthusiasm about collaborating with the Lower Chamber, recalling their long‑standing personal and professional bond. “Speaker! My partner. Looking forward to working with you,” he said warmly. He added, “Partner, looking forward to working with the House of Representatives. I also served in the House for two terms. I have been friends with him for a long time — since 2001, Speaker Bojie and I have been together, so I am excited to work with him.”
Speaker Dy responded with a lighthearted and inviting remark, smiling as he told his counterpart, “Let’s meet again at the SONA.” The exchange highlighted the friendly and cooperative atmosphere between the two leaders, a significant signal of improved relations between the Senate and the House of Representatives. Their joint presence in Sarangani underscored both chambers’ shared commitment to prioritize public welfare, especially in times of crisis, and to work hand‑in‑hand in addressing the urgent needs of Filipinos in Mindanao and across the country.
