PROMINENT businessman and former Ilocos Sur governor Luis “Chavit” Singson was taken into custody on Thursday by operatives of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD).
The arrest was made at his residence in Barangay Ugong Norte, Quezon City, pursuant to a warrant issued by Branch 21 of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) in Vigan City. He faces charges for violation of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, specifically for cyber libel, as confirmed by local police authorities.
