THE National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) announced that it will implement a pilot bank transfer system starting in the first quarter of 2026 to distribute cash gifts to eligible senior citizens.
The commission stated on Saturday that the bank transfer system aims to provide a more efficient, safer, and more convenient way to distribute benefits, ensuring they directly reach qualified senior citizens.
The NCSC is also processing the distribution of P100,000 cash gifts to four Aeta centenarians who were unable to receive them in 2024 due to the transfer of the program from the Department of Social Welfare and Development. The commission is coordinating with the Department of Budget and Management as part of its safeguard measures.
In 2025, the NCSC distributed P2.8 billion in cash gifts, including delayed distributions from the previous year, resulting in 96% budget utilization. The commission is also coordinating with the Capas, Tarlac local government unit to complete the necessary documents for the immediate release of cash gifts to Aeta centenarians.
Under RA No. 11982, the Expanded Centenarians Act, senior citizens are entitled to receive P10,000 upon reaching 80, 85, 90, and 95 years old, and P100,000 upon turning 100 years old.
