THE Palace on Monday dismissed speculation that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. would undergo surgery for diverticulitis as fake news.
Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace press officer Claire Castro stated that Marcos is attending to private meetings for the day. “Wala pong ganoong balita na maibibigay po tayo dahil ngayon po, ang Pangulo ay nasa meeting. So, iyan po ay fake news,” she said.
Castro assured that the President is now feeling much better after having undergone medical observation due to diverticulitis, or the inflammation of irregular bulging pouches in the wall of the large intestine. She said the President’s meeting might be posted on social media later to show that he is in good condition.
Last week, Marcos issued a video statement to assure the public that he did not experience a life-threatening condition, but rather an illness that was caused by extreme stress and age.
