POLICE have extracted three DNA profiles—two male and one female—from human remains discovered at a Laurel, Batangas cemetery.
These profiles, announced Thursday by PNP spokesperson BGen. Jean Fajardo, will be compared to samples from families of missing cockfighters and other missing persons.
The investigation may help solve other missing persons cases, and families are urged to contact their local police station for DNA testing.
Meanwhile, DNA extraction from remains previously found in Taal Lake proved unsuccessful due to degradation from prolonged submersion. The Batangas DNA findings are a significant development, potentially leading to victim identification and closure for families.
