REPRESENTATIVE Leila M. de Lima, House Deputy Minority Leader representing the Mamamayang Liberal (ML) Partylist, has issued a statement regarding Part 2 of former Rep. Zaldy Co’s exposé, calling his claim that he received no kickbacks from anomalous infrastructure projects “unbelievable.”
De Lima reiterated her call for Co to return to the Philippines, face the allegations against him, and present the whole truth before the appropriate forum. She emphasized that if Co is truly ready to reveal everything, he needs to cooperate with the investigations and answer questions directly.
The congresswoman pointed out that no matter how many parts his video series reaches, Co’s statements and presented evidence cannot be used in court unless he swears to them in the proper legal setting.
De Lima stated that the public wants the whole truth, solid evidence for strong cases, no attempts to wash hands clean, and no cover-ups or hidden agendas.
Above all, she said, the public wants all those involved to be imprisoned as soon as possible and for the stolen funds to be returned to the national treasury. De Lima’s statement reflects a growing demand for accountability and transparency in the ongoing investigations.
