FORMER speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez has issued a statement denying any wrongdoing in connection with the ongoing investigations into alleged irregularities in flood control projects and the national budget. Romualdez’s statement comes in response to recent allegations made by former Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co, who has implicated Romualdez and President Marcos in the controversy.
Romualdez asserted that his conscience remains clear and that throughout the inquiries, no public official, contractor, or witness has presented evidence of any wrongdoing on his part. The former speaker expressed his continued trust in the Investigating Committee, (ICI), the Department of Justice (DOJ), and the Ombudsman to fairly evaluate all statements and allegations based strictly on evidence.
