Abalos believes fugitive Quiboloy still in KOJC compound in Davao City

admin August 28, 2024

INTERIOR Secretary Benhur Abalos on Wednesday believes that fugitive pastor Apollo Quiboloy is still in the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) compound in Davao City.

While he did not elaborate, Abalos maintained that there is a strong indication that the KOJC founder is still there.

“Without compromising ‘yung operations ng police, malakas ang indication na nandoon, in fact madami na kaming tao at mga makina doon para mahanap siya both above ground and underground,” Abalos said.

Abalos’ remark came after the Davao Regional Trial Court Branch 15 had issued a pprotection order in favor of the KOJC after police personnel trooped to the area to serve the warrant of arrest against the pastor.

That’s as he maintained that Court’s did not order the police to leave the premises.

“What is important is that this is a court process at ang sinasabi sa pulis, hanapin ninyo si Quiboloy so hahanapin namin talaga siya (we will really look for him) and there are all indications that shows that Quiboloy is in that area,” Abalos said.

Meanwhile, Abalos called on Quiboloy to surrender and face the charges filed against him.

“Kung talagang wala siyang kasalanan, harapin niya ito athuwag siya dapat matakot, ‘yun lang para matapos na po lahat ito. Just face the court,” Abalos said.

“I know you are a man of God, you’ve been reading the Bible, you’re telling us about justice but now it’s time to face the court,” he added.

On August 24, the PNP trooped to the KOJC compound in Davao to serve the warrant against Quiboloy, who is facing charges under Section 5(b) and Section 10(a) of Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.

Quiboloy is also facing a non-bailable qualified human trafficking charge under Section 4(a) of Republic Act No. 9208, as amended, before a Pasig court.
