THE National Capital Region Police Office under the leadership of PMGEN Jonnel C Estomo combined forces with Bureau of Immigration in carrying out Oplan Greyhounds at Bureau of Immigration Warden Facility, Camp Bagong Diwa,Bicutan,Taguig City, 2:00am of January 31, 2023.
Oplan Grayhound was pulled off by the joint elements of Bureau of Immigration led by PBGen. Honorio Agnila (ret); Regional Special Operations Unit; Regional Drug Enforcement Unit from the Regional Intelligence Division under the overall supervision of PCol. Romano Cardiño, C,RID together with Regional Mobile Force Battalion, NCRPO and Intelligence Division, Bureau of Immigration.
The operation resulted in the confiscation of several pieces of contrabands such as cellular phones, laptops, internet routers and cords, cigarettes, over 500k pesos in cash and other prohibited items inside the facility.
The facility is known to be a temporary detention and holding area for foreigners subject for deportation.
Further, a surprise drug test was also conducted to the personnel of Bureau of Immigration Detention Facility by the Forensic Group – Southern Team led by PCpt. Merana.
The NCRPO Chief, PMGen Estomo emphasized that the operation was made in order to increase the detention’s security and orderliness at the facility. This, according to him, is one of the security measures being implemented to ensure the safety of all the personnel, occupants, visitors, detained/on-hold persons and tenants inside the camp.
