VALENZUELA City Representative Kenneth Gatchalian conducted a consultation and site visit at the Valenzuela Medical Center (ValMed) following the filing of House Bill No. 169.
The bill proposes increasing ValMed’s bed capacity from 500 to 800 and renaming it the Antonio M. Serapio Medical Center.
The consultation aimed to ensure the bill aligns with the hospital’s needs and expansion capabilities. ValMed’s Medical Chief, Dr. Cavaneyro, welcomed the proposed increase in bed capacity, describing it as a “much-needed improvement.”
During the visit, hospital officials requested Rep. Gatchalian’s support in securing budget allocation for infrastructure expansion and additional medical equipment.
Rep. Gatchalian assured them that these priorities would be addressed urgently once the budget season begins in September. The proposal to rename the hospital in honor of Congressman Antonio Serapio was also favorably received by ValMed management, serving as a tribute to his contributions and the hospital’s growth.
Rep. Gatchalian reiterated his commitment to improving healthcare services in Valenzuela City and establishing a more efficient and accessible healthcare system nationwide.
