The Bureau of Fire Protection said they receive the first alarm around 9:04 in the morning that Starland International School (SIS) on 12th Avenue, Brgy. Socorro, Quezon City was hit by fire. The fire was already under control by 9:57 am.
The BFP said that the cause of the fire and damage it brought are still under investigation.
An official of the school, meanwhile, said there were classes when the fire broke out but all students and personnel were able to safely evacuate the area.
“Meron po silang pasok kanina, pero nailabas naman po sila agad. Wala naman po [na nasaktan]. Okay naman po sila and well-informed po lahat ng parents,” Sally dela Cruz, Assistant to the Vice President of SIS said over the phone.
(They had classes earlier, but they were immediately dismissed. No one was injured. They are all okay, and all parents were well-informed.)
