SIX live pangolins (Manis culionensis) were saved from the cooking stove Thursday, December 16 as operatives of the DENR AILTF operatives led by PSSgt Menz Kimwell D, Esteban apprehended Rowena Pindot and Joel Quimado both of Ugong, Valenzuela City for possession and who were about to deliver the pangolins to a seaside restaurant in Pasay City.
Pindot and Quimado face charges of violation of RA 9147 or the Wildlife Resources Act The pangolins are now under the custody of the BMB Wildlife Rescue Center for health checkup and rehabilitation prior to their release back to their habitat somewhere in in Palawan.
