JUST like others who wish to fulfill their American dream, Pinoy nurses lined up to try their luck in a job fair in Quezon City.
“Alam naman natin na dito sa Pilipinas minimum ang salary ng mga nurses. Siyempre kailangan natin magawan ng paraan para mabuhay natin ang family natin,” said Rudy Dangla Cruz, an applicant who was among the first on the line, as reported by Unang Balita.
The job fair will be held from Tuesday, June 4, to Wednesday, June 5, at the office of Industrial Personnel and Management Services Inc. (IPAMS) on Aurora Boulevard in New Manila, Quezon City. A similar job fair will be held on Friday, June 7, in Tacloban City.
The job fair will accept 300 applicants, including walk-ins.
Present during the job fair were top executives of US hospital Hendrick Health and foreign placement agency Visa Solutions Healthcare to conduct on-the-spot interview and hiring.
Lucky applicants will not be required to pay for anything for their application.
Another applicant, Christine Aduna, is aware of the difficulties she will face if ever she gets accepted for the job.
“Physically mahirap pero hindi kasi well compensated dito sa atin. Same pagod pero siyempre ‘yung sahod kasi, ‘yung opportunity abroad mas malaki kaysa dito sa Pilipinas,” she said.
