ALL seven hospitals owned and operated by the Manila City government have been placed under Code White Alert, Manila OIC-City Health Officer Dr. Grace Padilla reported to Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso, as heavy rains continued to batter the city.
A Code White Alert means medical personnel, emergency response teams, and operations centers are placed on 24/7 standby to ensure a rapid response to expected emergencies.
The seven city-run district hospitals are Gat Andres Bonifacio Medical Center (District 1), Ospital ng Tondo (District 2), Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital (District 3), Mayor Ramon Bagatsing General Hospital, formerly Ospital ng Sampaloc (District 4), Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center (District 5), Sta. Ana Hospital (District 6), and President Corazon C. Aquino General Hospital (BASECO).
The Code White declaration comes as Metro Manila remains under PAGASA’s Red Rainfall Warning, with the Manila City DRRM Department earlier reporting flooded areas across the city.
Manila’s evacuation centers, district welfare offices, and health centers also remain on high alert under directives from the Mayor as the city continues to grapple with the ongoing downpour.
