FOREIGN affairs Sectretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. on Sunday (June 19, 2022) tweeted about the fatal shooting of Filipino lawyer John Albert “Jal” Laylo in Philadelphia, as reported to him by incoming Department of Migrant Workers secretary Susan Ople.
New York Consul General Elmer Cato said the victim was on his way to the airport with his mother to catch a flight to Chicago when the Uber vehicle they were riding in was fired upon at around 4 a.m.
One of six bullets fired by the suspect, who remains at-large, hit Laylo in the head while his mother was slightly wounded by glass fragments.
Locsin has instructed that Laylo’s body and his mother be brought home.
