A STRATEGIC legal move has resulted in the dismissal of acts of lasciviousness charges against GMA independent contractors Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz in the ongoing sexual abuse case involving actor Sandro Muhlach.
The Pasay Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 46 quashed the charges, ruling that they were subsumed within the existing rape charges filed at the Pasay City RTC.
The court found that the prosecution’s filing of separate charges for acts of lasciviousness was redundant, given that the alleged actions were part of the same incident and served the same ultimate purpose.
The decision represents a victory for the defense team, with lawyer Maggie Abraham-Garduque expressing satisfaction with the outcome. Muhlach’s camp has yet to respond.
