Lower transmission fees expected in January electric bills, says NGCP

admin January 14, 2026

CONSUMERS can anticipate lower transmission charges in their January electric bills, according to the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).

During a recent media briefing, the NGCP announced that the average transmission rate for the December 2025 supply period decreased by 0.68%, from P1.3547/kWh to P1.3455/kWh.

The charge for ancillary services also saw a reduction, dropping from 62 centavos/kWh last month to 59 centavos/kWh.

“For the January 2026 electric bill of end consumers, NGCP charges only 60 centavos per kWh for the delivery of its services,” the NGCP stated.

Transmission rates are collected through distribution utilities and electric cooperatives.

Earlier this week, Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) also announced another electricity rate reduction for January, bringing the price of electricity down to P12.9508/kWh.
