THE Department of Justice (DOJ) confirmed on Monday that an explosion, allegedly caused by an improvised explosive device, occurred near its main entrance along Padre Faura Street, Manila.
The incident took place at approximately 12:17 a.m. According to the department, no injuries or casualties have been reported so far. Authorities also assured that the situation is fully under control and the entire DOJ compound remains secure.
The Philippine National Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal (PNP‑EOD) Unit has been deployed to conduct a technical examination of the site to determine the exact nature of the device used and how it was placed. A full investigation is now underway to identify the source of the blast, the individuals behind it, and the circumstances leading to the incident.
In an official statement, the DOJ reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the safety of its personnel and the general public. It added that the agency will support a comprehensive, impartial probe to establish accountability and ensure that such threats do not disrupt the delivery of justice or public service.
