THE Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) attempted to serve arrest warrants on Friday, November 28, 2025, against three officials of Sunwest Corp. in Pasay City.
The officials were ordered arrested by the Sandiganbayan on charges of graft and malversation in relation to the ongoing flood control corruption scandal. Despite the CIDG’s efforts, no arrests were made during the operation.
The warrants stem from allegations of corruption and irregularities in connection with flood control projects, which have been under investigation for some time.
Sunwest Corp. has been implicated in the scandal, with its officials facing accusations of malversation and graft. The Sandiganbayan’s issuance of arrest warrants underscores the seriousness of the charges and the court’s intent to bring those allegedly responsible to justice.
The CIDG’s failure to serve the warrants raises questions about the whereabouts of the Sunwest Corp. officials. Authorities have not yet released details regarding the reasons for the unsuccessful operation, but it is likely that the officials were not present at the specified locations when the CIDG attempted to serve the warrants. The CIDG is expected to continue its efforts to locate and apprehend the individuals named in the arrest warrants.
