A CORRECTIONS officer was arrested in a buy-bust operation inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) Reservation in Barangay Poblacion, Muntinlupa City, on Sunday afternoon, November 2.
According to a spot report from the Muntinlupa City Police Station, the operation was conducted at around 2:25 p.m. by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) in coordination with the Inter-Agency Collaborative Group (IACG) and the Directorate for Intelligence and Investigation of the Bureau of Corrections.
Police stated that the suspect, identified as a 27-year-old corrections officer, was caught selling suspected shabu to an undercover operative. Authorities recovered four sachets containing approximately 19.4 grams of suspected shabu from the suspect, with an estimated street value of P131,920.
Authorities also confiscated the P500 marked bill used in the buy-bust, a dark blue motorcycle, a Glock 17 pistol with a magazine and five live bullets, and a black pistol holster. The suspect, reportedly newly identified as a high-value individual (HVI), was taken to the SDEU office for documentation and investigation before the filing of appropriate charges for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
