HOUSE Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez has vowed to pursue justice for Director Mauricio “Morie” Pulhin, Technical Staff Chief of the House Committee on Ways and Means, who was murdered over the weekend.
Visiting Pulhin’s wake on Tuesday, Speaker Romualdez expressed outrage at the senseless killing and assured the family of the House’s full support in their quest for justice.
“Morie was a quiet, hardworking professional… The manner of his death was senseless and deeply disturbing,” Speaker Romualdez stated. He declared a commitment to identifying and holding accountable not only the perpetrators but also anyone who may have been involved.
The Speaker commended the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) for forming a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to expedite the investigation, which includes reviewing CCTV footage, forensic analysis, and witness interviews.
Speaker Romualdez urged law enforcement to act with urgency, emphasizing that justice delayed is justice denied.
He also appealed to the public for any information that could assist in the investigation, stating, “We urge anyone who saw or heard anything unusual to come forward. Even the smallest detail could make a difference.”
The Speaker concluded by asserting that this crime will not be ignored and that the House will relentlessly pursue justice for Pulhin, his family and all public servants.
