THE Pasay City Police chief and 26 of his men has been relieved from post for allowing Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO) hub near a police sub-station, according to the Philipine National Police (PNP).
Col. Jean Fajardo, PNP Public Affairs Office chief, said the removal of PCol. Froilan Uy was approved by BGen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., head of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).
Fajardo said Uy will be replaced by PCol. Mario Mayanes as acting director.
The removal of Uy came after the PNP Internal Affairs Service (PNP-IAS) recommended an in-depth investigation on the possible neglect of duty by lawmen by allowing the POGO facility to operate October 27.
