Acting on a verified intelligence that the Madriaga Kidnap for Ransom Group was planning to reassemble for another kidnapping job, the PNP AKG swiftly launched an operation to prevent the victimization of innocent individuals.
Police arrested Ramil Madriaga, 55, of San Andres, Cainta, Rizal, isted as the 5th Most Wanted Person of the AKG at the national level; Jaime Patano, 53, residing in San Roque, Iriga City; Ervyn Bernados, 32, of San Andres, Cainta Rizal; Ronald Alivio, 44, of Villa Stella 2, San Andres, Cainta Rizal; and Richard Babagay, 38, residing in Brgy. The Madriaga Kidnap for Ransom Group stands as among the most perilous criminal syndicates in recent police records and has been under thorough investigation for several months. Infamous for their audacious acts of violence and their involvement in a series of abhorrent crimes throughout the region, this group’s activities have caused the loss of innocent lives, including the tragic demise of a respected officer from the AKG during a confrontation with the criminals.
The families of the victims, including the bereaved family of the fallen AKG officer, expressed gratitude and relief upon receiving news of the arrests.
“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the dedicated operatives of the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group for their exceptional work in swiftly dismantling the Madriaga Kidnap for Ransom Group. Their unwavering commitment and relentless efforts have contributed to upholding the law and ensuring the safety of our citizens,” stated PNP Chief Police General Benjamin Acorda Jr.
