THE Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has grounded all operations of Woodland Airpark following the crash of an ultralight aircraft in Barangay Panalicsican, Concepcion, Tarlac on Saturday morning, October 18, 2025. The crash resulted in the deaths of the two occupants of the aircraft.
The grounding order was issued upon the instructions of Acting Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez. CAAP Director General Lt. Gen. Raul Del Rosario (ret.) stated that Lopez ordered an immediate safety and operations audit to assess the airworthiness of the aircraft and the operator’s compliance with aviation safety standards.
Initial reports indicate that the ultralight aircraft, carrying one male and one female, originated from Magalang, Pampanga, before crashing in a rice field in Concepcion, Tarlac. The CAAP investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.
