THE Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced on Thursday that a low pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) has developed into a tropical depression.
“At 8:00 AM today, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) 09g outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility developed into a Tropical Depression,” PAGASA stated.
The weather bureau is also monitoring two additional LPAs for potential tropical cyclone formation.
PAGASA advises the public to stay updated on weather forecasts.
Meanwhile, the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) is affecting Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao, bringing the potential for heavy rains.
Palawan can expect cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. Visayas and Mindanao are forecast to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Due to localized thunderstorms, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
