LPA and shear line bring rain, thunderstorms to parts of PH

A LOW Pressure Area (LPA) and a shear line are expected to bring cloudy skies, scattered rains, and thunderstorms to various parts of the Philippines over the next 24 hours, according to the latest weather forecast.

As of 3:00 PM today, the LPA was estimated to be 715 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur (8.6°N, 133.0°E). A shear line is affecting the eastern section of Luzon, while the Northeast Monsoon is impacting the rest of Northern and Central Luzon.

Affected Areas and Expected Weather Conditions:

Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Aurora, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur: Cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line. Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.
Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region, the rest of Bicol Region, and Zamboanga Peninsula: Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the trough of the LPA. Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, and the rest of Central Luzon: Cloudy skies with rains due to the Northeast Monsoon. Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Ilocos Region: Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon. No significant impact expected.
MIMAROPA and the rest of Mindanao: Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Wind and Coastal Water Conditions:

Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Visayas, Central Luzon, and Southern Luzon: Strong winds from the Northeast to East, with rough coastal waters (2.8 to 4.0 meters).
The rest of Luzon and Visayas: Moderate to strong winds from the Northeast to East, with moderate coastal waters (1.2 to 2.6 meters).
Mindanao: Light to moderate winds from the Northeast to North, with slight to moderate coastal waters (0.6 to 2.5 meters).
