“We’ve known about this for a long time, as it has been discussed for quite some time,” the Vice President said. “Since we entered office as President and Vice President, we’ve been hearing about the delivery of money in suitcases. It’s only coming out in public now because a witness has come forward stating that they were the ones personally delivering those suitcases.”
The Vice President further commented on Congressman Romualdez’s alleged involvement, stating, “It’s not odd for Martin Romualdez because he was already involved with heavy luggage in the Okada case. If you recall, his name was mentioned in the State of Delaware case in America, and it was also mentioned that he was receiving money in luggage. So that’s really their modus operandi.”
When asked if she was surprised by the allegations, the Vice President responded, “I’m not surprised, ma’am, because it was already being reported before. We just didn’t discuss it in public because there was no… At that time, no one would say ‘I saw it, I did it firsthand, this is what happened.’ Unlike now, there is someone who has stated what the system is, what they did, and how they did it.”
