THE office of Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez has vehemently denied online rumors claiming he suffered a stroke and is currently hospitalized.

In a statement released on Saturday, lawyer Lemuel Erwin Romero, head executive assistant to the Speaker, labelled the allegations as “completely untrue” and “malicious rumors” designed to mislead the public.

Romero emphasized that Speaker Romualdez is in excellent health and continues to actively fulfill his duties. He cited the Speaker’s participation in several official engagements on December 6th, including the signing of two new laws at Malacañang alongside President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and other legislative leaders.

Later that day, Speaker Romualdez attended the League of Provinces of the Philippines’ year-end celebration and thanksgiving event, where he reinforced collaboration with local government leaders.

“The event was widely covered by the media, underscoring his active role in advancing these legislative measures,” Romero stated.

The Speaker’s office urged the public to rely on verified and official sources of information and to reject disinformation that seeks to undermine trust in leaders and institutions.
