A FOUR-year-old boy tragically died in a fire that engulfed a residential area in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City, early Saturday morning.
According to a report by Carlo Mateo on Dobol B TV, the young child was trapped on the second floor of his family’s house located in the PUPHA Compound.
The fire broke out at approximately 2:22 a.m. and rapidly spread, consuming both the affected house and an adjacent residence.
Both structures were constructed primarily of light materials, contributing to the rapid spread of the flames. The child’s mother, in an attempt to escape the blaze, jumped from a window on the second floor, sustaining injuries and tragically unable to rescue her son.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Pasig City declared the fire extinguished at 2:46 a.m. The incident resulted in the destruction of two houses and affected five families. In a display of mourning and remembrance, neighbors lit candles in front of the child’s house.
