Talisay, Batangas – A phreatomagmatic eruption was recorded at Taal Volcano at approximately 8:00 AM today. According to the latest report from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), the volcano remains at Alert Level 1, indicating a “low level unrest.”
The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) of Talisay, Batangas, has released an official statement regarding the current situation. The MDRRMC assures the public that such activity is normal for a volcano under Alert Level 1, signifying a low level of unrest with no immediate signs of a major eruption.
The MDRRMC is continuously monitoring Taal Volcano’s condition through CCTV live feeds, official PHIVOLCS bulletins, and air quality monitoring to ensure public safety.
