AFTER months of swirling rumors and speculation, talent agency Star Magic has officially confirmed that Gerald Anderson and Julia Barretto have mutually decided to end their relationship.
The agency released a statement on Thursday, putting an end to weeks of intense public scrutiny and online chatter surrounding the couple’s status.
“Gerald and Julia are grateful to their fans and friends for the love and support,” the statement read, while also urging the public to respect their decision and refrain from spreading false narratives.
The confirmation comes just months after Anderson publicly denied breakup reports in June, insisting that he and Barretto were still together.
The pair first went public with their romance in March 2021, with both expressing their happiness and affection for each other. However, their relationship was shrouded in controversy from the start, stemming from speculation that arose during the filming of “Between Maybes” in 2019.
At the time, Anderson was in a relationship with Bea Alonzo, and Barretto was implicated in the subsequent breakup, allegations that both actors denied.
In 2024, Barretto acknowledged her role in the earlier controversy, stating that she had to “take accountability” for her part in the chaos. Despite the early challenges, Anderson and Barretto navigated their relationship in the public eye, often fielding questions about marriage and expressing their hopes for a future together.
