THE Alas Pilipinas women’s national volleyball team announced its roster for a series of high-profile international tournaments this year, unveiling a strong lineup blending experienced players with rising collegiate stars.
A photo shared on Tuesday showcased the team’s composition, featuring a mix of familiar faces and exciting new additions. Returning from last year’s squad are key players such as Jia de Guzman, Dawn Macandili-Catindig, Eya Laure, Faith Nisperos, Fifi Sharma, Vanie Gandler, Dell Palomata, Jen Nierva, Thea Gagate, Julia Coronel, Bella Belen, and Alyssa Solomon.
These seasoned players will provide valuable experience and leadership to the team.
Joining the veterans are several professional players, including Justine Jazareno, Leila Cruz, MJ Phillips, and Mars Alba, who will bring their considerable skills and expertise to the court.
The team also features promising collegiate standouts, adding depth and youthful energy to the roster. Angel Canino, Alleiah Malaluan, and Amie Provido from De La Salle University, Clarisse Loresco from Far Eastern University, and Lams Lamina from National University, are among the collegiate players selected.
Rounding out the impressive lineup is Tia Andaya, who will make her debut with the national team. According to the team’s announcement, this roster will compete in the AVC Nations Cup (June 7-14), the VTV Cup, the SEA VLeague, and the Southeast Asian Games in December. The team’s diverse and talented roster promises a strong showing in all upcoming competitions.
