SPEAKER Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez on Tuesday expressed deep gratitude to the Filipino people following the latest OCTA Research Tugon ng Masa (TNM) survey, which showed a significant rise in public trust and satisfaction with the House of Representatives.
The nationwide survey revealed that 57% of Filipinos now trust the House, an increase of 8 percentage points from last year, while 55% are satisfied with its performance, also up by 8 points.
“This trust is not about numbers—it is about people. It is about the Filipino family who looks to Congress to fight for them, to listen, and to deliver. These results tell us that what we are doing—every debate, every bill, every late night in session—is making a difference,” Speaker Romualdez said.
The Speaker credited the improvement to the collective effort of House Members to champion pro-people policies, transparent budget reforms, and measures that put food on the table, jobs in communities, and opportunities for all.
“We are humbled by this trust, but we also know it is borrowed. We have to earn it every single day. That means staying true to our duty to be the voice of the people and to ensure that the laws we pass translate to real change in their lives,” Speaker Romualdez added.
He also highlighted the House’s partnership with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., saying:
“When the Executive and Legislative branches move as one, we can move the country forward faster. We are proud to help push the President’s vision of a Bagong Pilipinas—a country of hope, progress, and shared prosperity.”
Speaker Romualdez concluded with a personal note: “Ang tiwala ng taumbayan ay parang kandila na kailangang alagaan. We will continue to light the way—through honest leadership, sincere service, and a united Congress working for every Filipino.”
