
Severe Tropical Storm Opong made landfall over Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro on Friday, prompting the raising of Signal No. 3 in eight areas. As of the latest update, Opong was located in the vicinity of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro, packing maximum sustained winds of 110 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kilometers per hour.
PAGASA has issued the following Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals as of its 2 p.m. advisory:
Signal No. 3:
- Luzon: Batangas, Marinduque, Romblon, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Calamian Islands
- Visayas: Northwestern portion of Aklan (Malay, Nabas, Buruanga), Caluya Islands
Signal No. 2:
- Luzon: Southern portion of Zambales, Bataan, Southern portion of Pampanga, Southern portion of Bulacan, Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Central and Southern portions of Quezon, Cuyo Islands, Northern portion of Palawan, Western portion of Masbate (including Burias Island)
- Visayas: Northern portion of Antique, Rest of Aklan, Capiz, Northern portion of Iloilo
