AT least 21 firearms belonging to the aide of Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder Apollo Quiboloy were surrendered to police on Saturday.
The 18 handguns, two rifles and a shotgun were turned over by KOJC representative Israelito Torreon to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) 11 at the church compound in Barangay Sasa.
In his Facebook post, Torreon said the firearms were owned by the aide, Tamayong Village chief Cresente “Enteng” Canada.
He said that through his representation, Canada, a gun collector, decided to entrust all his licensed guns for safekeeping to the CIDG regional office led by Col. Bernard Pagaduan and Maj. Edgardo Bahan, as posted on Manila Times portal.
“This act is made in order to show good faith that Barangay Captain Canada and the leaders of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ The Name Above Every Name have no intention to use violence as a means to further their lawful and Godly objectives,” Torreon said.
Canada decided to entrust his guns to the police to dispel rumors that he is using them to protect Quiboloy, Torreon said.
Canada is among the five co-accused in the child abuse and qualified human trafficking cases filed against Quiboloy in courts in Davao and Pasig cities.
Early this month, Quiboloy’s camp also turned over five of 19 licensed firearms after the Civil Security Group head office in Manila issued a license revocation order to Quiboloy on April 26.
