SCHOOL authorities of the General Mariano Alvarez Technical High School were able to prevent a planned mass shooting following information given by a Grade 10 student who told them about his classmate’s plan for the attack.
The informant’s 15-year-old schoolmate, identified only as ‘Emman’, is now under the custody of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD) for preventive intervention.
According to teachers, they were informed about the minor’s plans and they immediately reported it to local police authorities in Barangay Poblacion I in General Mariano Alvarez.
Based on initial investigation, the suspect’s mother confirmed that her husband had a gun stowed away in their house in Barangay Dacon in the same municipality.
The police were able to retrieve the said firearm after it was turned over to barangay officials.
In the meantime, MSWD officials disclosed that they are planning to commit the suspect to the Boy’s Town in Marikina City for rehabilitation and the proper disposition of his case.
