THE Quezon City government has approved the request of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) to hold a rally on Wednesday, July 1, covering the stretch from White Plains Avenue to Temple Drive. \
The decision was formally issued by the city’s Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS), giving the religious group the legal clearance to conduct its activity within the specified area and schedule.
In its permit approval, DPOS stated it has “no objection” to the gathering, provided it remains peaceful and orderly. The activity is set to run from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and authorities will be on site to guide traffic, ensure safety, and make sure the assembly does not severely disrupt the flow of vehicles and residents in the vicinity. The grant comes as the group continues its public expressions of support for Senator Rodante Marcoleta.
Meanwhile, as of 6:00 PM on Tuesday, the Quezon City Police estimated the crowd size near the People Power Monument at around 16,000 people. The large turnout underscores the scale of the ongoing assembly, and with the new permit issued, authorities are now preparing to manage two key areas of activity to maintain peace and order across the city.
