THE Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said Friday a magnitude 6.6 earthquake was recorded southeast of Sarangani Island, Davao Occidental.
Based on its bulletin, Phivolcs said the earthquake recorded at 4:02 Monday morning, was tectonic in origin with a depth of focus of 114 kilometers.
Intensity II was reported in Glan and Kiamba in Sarangani province, and in Tupi in South Cotabato
Meanwhile, Intensity I was felt in Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental; Maitum and Malapatan in Sarangani province; and Koronadal City and General Santos City in South Cotabato.
There are no expected aftershocks or damage from the earthquake, according to Phivolcs.
