Naga City, Philippines – The live-in partner of a female doctor found dead inside a parked car in Naga City has surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), the agency reported on Thursday.
The man, identified as a person of interest in the death of Dr. Rajean Monnette Romualdez, surrendered to authorities with his family. He is now in the custody of the NBI – Bicol as investigations continue.
The man faced the media but declined to give a statement, saying he was waiting for his lawyer.
Romualdez’s body was found inside a parked car in a residential village in Barangay Concepcion Pequeña, near the Bicol Medical Center, on Sunday. The 36-year-old obstetrician-gynecologist, a resident of Metro Manila, sustained a gunshot wound to the head.
Reports indicate that Romualdez’s live-in partner was the last person seen with her before her death.
