THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has ordered the closure of a Japanese language learning center for allegedly engaging in illegal recruitment of Filipino workers to Japan.
The DMW’s Migrant Workers Protection Bureau (MWPB) shut down the center’s main office in Panabo City, Davao del Norte, and its branches in Manila, Rosario, Cavite, Davao City, and General Santos City. The center is accused of offering jobs abroad without the necessary licenses.
The learning center’s management will face illegal recruitment charges and will be added to the DMW’s blacklist, permanently barring them from government overseas recruitment programs.
Individuals who have been victimized by this language training center are urged to contact the DMW-MWPB via Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/dmwairtip), email (mwpb@dmw.gov.ph), or hotline (+63 2 8721-0619) for legal assistance.
