THIS coming January 21, Dinagat Islands is set to bring its founding fiesta, Bugkosan Festival, to Sinulog Festival 2024 with a street performance featuring 450 Dinagatnon performers telling the story of Dinagat Islands from its founding to its most recent struggle to rebuild after Category 5 Super Typhoon Odette.
“Bugkosan,” which means coming together for one cause, aims to announce to the rest of the country that Dinagat Islands, while still recovering from Odette’s devastation, is ready to once again be known as a haven for tourism and for the celebration of faith, history, and heritage.
