Newly-designated Bataan police director Col. Romell A. Velasco, in a huddle with Metro Sun reporter Mar T Supnad
CAMP TOLENTINO, Bataan- Col. Romell Allaga Velasco is the new PNP director of Bataan after he was designated last Saturday by PNP hierarchy to head the police force in this industrial province in Central Luzon.
A native of Nueva Ecija but is also considered as Bataeño for marrying a Bataeña, Velasco replaced Col. Joel Tampis, who was transferred to Camp Olivas, PNP headquarters in Central Luzon.
Prior to his designation as PD here, Velasco was the chief of Police Community Relations in the region where he earned the respect of newsmen based in Camp Olivas.
But Velasco is not new to Bataan being detailed in Camp Tolentino, Bataan PNP headquarters, for several years as deputy PD, mobile force commander and had become chief of police for various towns in Bataan.
Known for his being incorruptible and is regarded in high esteem, Velasco vows to maintain the prevailing peace and order in the province.
Velasco is known to newsmen as silent worker, soft-spoken and low profile police officer.
