BOC-Clark turns over P12.5M worth of illegal drugs to PDEA

At least 12 imported shipments that arrived on different dates were seized from March to November 2022.

CLARK Freeport Zone – The Bureau of Customs-Port of Clark turned over various illegal drugs and marijuana-based products estimated to be worth P12.5 million to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on November 25.

At least 12 imported shipments that arrived on different dates were seized from March to November 2022. Forfeiture decisions were released for violation of Sections 118 (g), 119 (d), and 1113 par. f, i & l (3 & 4) of R.A. No. 10863 or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA, in relation to Section 4 of R.A. No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022.

The illegal drugs were discovered after undergoing mandatory x-ray inspection, profiling incoming shipments, intensified intelligence capabilities, and continuous coordination with PDEA and other counterparts.

The illegal drugs turned over to PDEA included 4,102 pieces of Ecstasy worth P6.9 million discovered in a shipment marked “sturay mono protein” from Paris, France, P4.3 million worth of Kush from California, USA declared as “fishing net,” P672,000 worth of Kush declared as “prescription meds” from Quebec, Canada, P390,000.00 worth of Kush from Alberta, Canada declared as “candy toys,” 346 marijuana capsules, five (5) grams of Ketamine, 37 pouches of marijuana gummies, 310 grams of Kush, and other marijuana substances.

Port of Clark Collector John Simon recognized the vigilance of the port’s personnel in protecting the border against the entry of illegal drugs.

He also acknowledged the strengthened coordination with the local government units and partner agencies in the Bureau of Customs’ campaign for border security.

The BOC remains steadfast in enforcing the directives of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. In its anti-illegal drug measures to prevent the entry of dangerous substances into the country.
